A group of youths, several climate change officers, nearby communities and some very naughty but active children came together on 9/10/10 (10/10/10 is a holy day for most Solomon Islanders) to do a little cleaning up of the Mataniko River bank. We rid the site of garbage and we also plan to sow flowers purely inorder to beautify the area. In addition, given that the area is quite vast and will require much effort, a later date is set to launch a huge clean-up action activity there.

The attached pictures illustrate the small but energetic and lively individuals. Please keep in mind that unfortunately most Solomon Islanders are camera shy, so including everybody in the pictures was quite a challenge…:))
