Plant a Tree, Make a Difference

Hafa Adai,

On Saturday, October 9th, the Mariana Islands Nature Alliance (MINA) and other support groups from Micronesia joined together to take the challenge towards climate change. 350 plants (vouchers included) were on display to be given out to the local community to bring home and plant it. Numerous ongoing cars turned around to pick up free trees in front of the MINA office. Not only were they just given out, but the people were also educated on why planting a tree is important to our environment. Free reusable shopping bags and "Walk it, Don't Drive it" slippers were handed out as well to those who voluntarily picked up plants. Overall, the 350 global climate change party was a great success! Si yu'us ma'ase.
