When a 1000 young people from all over the Pacific region will cluster in Auckland, New Zealand for the much anticipated youth climate summit from 7-9 December to “be the change” they want to see in the world, for one young leader from the friendly isles it will be business as usual – trying to inspire young people to voice out in solidarity against the most threatening challenge of our generation.

Polikalepo Kefu, an impeccable 350 Pacific organizer, will lead Tonga’s participation at the inaugural Power Shift NZ-Pacific with a lot of positive energy, complemented by the contributions of fellow islanders, and the super-awesome and energized young organizers of the event.

“Climate change made changes to our daily life and activities. It happens in our generation and it will continue if we don’t have the courage to stand up and take action,” Poli, as commonly known among his friends and family, shares.

“I am compassionate about this problem (climate change) which affects the Pacific islands, though we contribute almost nothing towards it happening, we are the one who are severely affected by the change,” he adds.

“The group members of 350 Tonga have managed to prepare well for the Power Shift Pacific although there have been few hurdles but the young people have put in a lot of effort in trying to make sure that Tonga is represented at the historic event,” Poli adds.
